Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional disorder of the gastrointestinal tract. No pathological markers exist to identify the disease. The lack of diagnostic pathological tests places the doctor in a position of uncertainty regarding the diagnosis. However, knowledge of the condition and guidelines relating to its diagnosis and management will enable the diagnosis to be made with greater certainty. This course will equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to diagnose and appropriately manage patients with IBS.
