This hat is for optimism and logical positives.  It looks for feasibility, values, benefits and strong points which must all be logical and substantiated.
The Green Hat - Creative thinking
The green hat directs our thinking into creativity, solving (black hat) problems, searching for alternatives, overcoming obstacles, improving things, and generating new ideas.

WHAT IS LATERAL THINKING?

Lateral Thinking ... a way of thinking that seeks a solution to an intractable problem through unorthodox methods or elements that would normally be ignored by logical thinking."  Dr. E de Bono

Lateral Thinking is often ill defined and often misused. It is in fact a creative process that empowers people by adding strength to their natural abilities, a process that improves creativity, innovation and one which leads to increased productivity and profits. Today, better service and quality alone are not enough.  Creativity and innovation are the only engines that will drive lasting, global success.
