Course Title: Change Management
Program Overview
There are few guarantees in the workplace today, but change is one of them. Organisations today are in a state of constant change as they adapt to new global realities.
The ability to change, quickly and effectively, with committed and capable people, is the new strategic advantage. Change management is a structured approach to shifting/transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations from a current state to a desired future state. Very few, if any, companies are immune from change these days. Sometimes the change is organic and people hardly notice it happening. More often, however, change is initiated because businesses have to respond to external pressures and constraints as well as internal ones. Most companies are either preparing for change, in the middle of managing change or just simply having a hard time recovering from some previous change. Wherever you are with managing change, helping your people is essential.
Organizational Change Management should begin with a systematic diagnosis of the current situation in order to determine both the need for change and the capability to change. The objectives, content, and process of change should all be specified as part of a Change Management plan. Effective change management skills include leadership development (to get people to believe in you), marketing and sales abilities (to promote your case for change), and communication skills (to help build support for the decision to change) and a good understanding of the psychological and emotional effects of change.
