Apparel Design Draping (theoretical and practical training)

Draping refers to the process of using lengths of fabric to drape around a dress-maker’s form. This method will give you an idea of how the fabric will “fall” from the body.

The dress-maker’s form will be draped with similar but cheaper fabric until you have a pattern made and tested. Only then will the “real” fabric be used to finish the garment.

A wide verity of styles are covered in this course.

- Measurements
- Manipulating dart excess
- Bodice designs & variations
- Skirt designs & variations
- Pants designs & variations
- Dress foundations & design variations
- Bustier foundation
- Sleeves, collars, yokes, midriffs, etc.
- Draping and transferring the true up (muslin patterns) onto paper.
- Draping of woman blouses, shirts, dresses, jackets, coats, skirts & pants.
