Course Title:   Nature Enthusiast Course

Africa Nature Training offers all wildlife enthusiasts and prospective field guides access to the best and most enjoyable nature training available in southern Africa . Our training team consists of experienced and knowledgeable individuals, with years of dedication to training field guides and naturalists. Every learner will find the course personally stimulating and enriching. Our goal is to equip you with practical and theoretical knowledge of the natural environment. Each learner who successfully completes the year-long course will be capable of conducting walking trails, game drives and other interpretive activities. Our weekend field trips to nature reserves and places of scientific interest are the perfect way to gain practical experience! Not only that, your new knowledge will enhance every safari and bush holiday you take for the rest of your life.


This course is accredited by the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA).

Programme

The Nature Enthusiast Course is a part-time, year long, blended learning programme, combining evening lectures with weekend field trips.  Leading experts present each topic, providing unique access to their vast knowledge and insight, making every lecture a stimulating experience.
Course Objectives

The goal of the Field Guide and Nature Enthusiast Course is to equip the person doing the course with a balanced set of practical skills and theoretical knowledge of the southern African bushveld. The person who successfully completes the course will acquire a recognised qualification, as well as the experience and confidence required of professional nature guides to conduct walking trails, game drives and other interpretive activities in National Parks, Nature Reserves, and Wilderness areas.

For those people who may not wish to use their knowledge in this way, the course offers a valuable and personally enriching experience, giving the participant a well-informed understanding of the ecology, flora and fauna of the southern African savanna biome.

Course Outline

• Lectures commence February
