Course Title: Business Writing Skills
Course Aim:
This two-day workshop provides attendees with an understanding of the need for better business communication. It looks at how one communicates and why, in the context of the business environment and at how verbal and written communication differ. Some of the widespread problems associated with communication, business communication and business communication in the English language are looked at so that a number of the pitfalls can be overcome.
Some of the basic rules and guidelines for preparing business texts are dealt with and attendees have an opportunity to work on a number of documents frequently used within the business environment. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the need to improve their written business communication and of the fundamental concepts that require attention and that will help with this improvement over time, including: Precision, Simplicity, Clarity, Tone, Structure, Purpose, Style, Layout, Punctuation, Editing and Revising.
