Course Title: Instructors Rating
The instructors rating is arguably the most important rating of all. With this rating comes the responsibilty to pass on to potential new aviators, not only the skills you have aquired but also a respect for the high standard of airmanship and professional attitude required to be a safe pilot.
You will be taking new students through those very steps you took on your way to their first solo flight and then on to the attainment of a Private Pilot Licence.
When attaining a position as a new Grade III instructor you will work under the supervision and mentorship of the Chief flying Instructor as you build experience. Many new Commercial Pilots move immediately on to becoming a Grade III instructor. You are required to study for and write a set of exams which cover in detail all facets of principles of flight and the practical teaching of the basic flying syllabus. At the Algoa Flight Centre we also instill in our Instructor candidates an understanding of the Philosophy of teaching and most of all instilling in new pilots the standards and attitude required of a safe pilot.
Course schedules will be tailor made to suit your needs and the full time practical course for the Instructors Rating takes approximately 4 weeks. Before the practical course is started the theory must be completed and time for this must therefore be allowed. THe minimum Practical requirement for the Instructors rating is 20 hours of ground briefing and lecture training and 20 hours of flying.
