Field Ranger training is done with the requirements of the National Certificate In Natural Resource Guardianship in mind. This means after successful completion candidates will obtain a National Qualification.

How to achieve the National Certificate in Natural Resource Guardianship
The training is divided into 2 formal five-day training sessions with practical experiential training afterwards. Some of the modules will require co-operation from reserve managers, e.g. certifying competence in Erecting and Maintaining Wildlife Fencing from the practical perspective.
The process is structured as follows:
• Attend Basic Field Ranger Course (one week)
• Return to reserve and implement new knowledge
• Assessment on new skills certified by reserve manager and The Nature College assessor (standardised assessment form) after period of 3-6 months
• Attend Advanced Field Ranger Course (one week)
• Return to reserve and implement new knowledge
• Assessment on new skills certified by reserve manager and The Nature College assessor (standardised assessment form) after period of 3-6 months
• Declaration of Competence issued
• National Certificate issued.
