Let your creativity come to life. Interior designers are creative people who enjoy solving problems and who are able to visualize three dimensionally. They create inspiring, functional and socially responsible designs for private and public spaces by using colour, architecture, design and décor. This includes design schemes for recreational, business practice, exhibitions and residential environments.

Classification Decorating & Design -> Interior Design
Course Requirements Admittance requirements and selection process

* Minimum requirements: National Senior Certificate with an average achievement level of 4 (50 59%).
* Recommended subjects for Somatology and Health Therapies are Life Sciences (Biology) and Physical Sciences.
* Recommended subjects for Interior Design and Decorating are Engineering Graphics and Design and Visual Arts. A portfolio has to be submitted for selection.
* The selection process is done by means of a personal interview with the department head, Mrs Dos Santos.

Notes Recognition of Pior Learning (RPL)

Potchefstroom Academy has a policy and procedure for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in place.

The basic objective underlying Recognition of Prior Learning is that it attempts, especially in adults, to acknowledge all learning, irrespective of how it was achieved, through an open and transparent approach to assessment.

Forms to apply for RPL can be obtained from the Academy.
