Course Title:   Driving License

So, you want to take driving lessons

Here’s how it works.

You must be in possession of a valid Learners License. Be informed. Be aware of the expiry date printed on the Learners License. Contrary to popular belief, it is valid for eighteen months. Do not wait until your Learners License reach it’s expiry date. If it does expire it cannot be renewed or extended. You will have to rewrite the test. It might take up to six weeks or more to be able to find a test date at a Testing Centre.

Phone or email us to make an appointment. We will arrange a date and time convenient for you. The duration of a driving lesson is one hour. The time starts from the point that you start driving. We are available seven day’s per week from 07h00 to 19h00. Add R30-00 per hour for lessons on a Sunday. Cancellation of an appointment must be done at least 24 hours before the time, or you will be held responsible for a cancellation fee. A qualified instructor will meet you at the address that you specified. You must bring your identity document and Learners License with on each driving lesson. Know your rights. Do not be afraid to ask the instructor to show you his instructor’s certificate. This means that he is qualified in the K53 methods of driving, testing methods and procedures. By law, it is compulsory for him to carry it at all times while giving training. An instructor’s certificate is valid for one year and issued by the local Licensing Department. Strange, but true, a driving instructor goes for his Learners and Driver’s License annually.

It does not matter if you are a complete beginner, or if you can drive well. The instructor will adjust his training methods to your driving ability. All vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance and are fitted with dual controls. You will drive a new Toyota Tazz.  It is a small roadworthy vehicle, does not have a boot, and is easy to drive and park. You will receive a starter pack which includes the K53 method of driving, all the parking procedures, the pre trip inspections, sketches of all the parking, and a detailed explanation of how the point system works when you go for your driver’s test.

Be informed. Remember there is a difference between driving, and driving for a driver’s test. You will need to do all the driving and parking the K53 way. This means following new methods and principles of driving and parking. You cannot learn this a day or two before the time. On the test day, you will need to be confident in these methods.

What you will learn:

•    The starting procedures.
•    Basic stopping, moving off , and the changing of gears.
•    K53 driving on a public road.
•    The rules of the road.
•    How to read, understand, and apply road signs correctly.
•    K53 blind spots and observations while driving.
•    The road test.
•    The yard test.
•    The 3-point turn.
•    The parallel parking.
•    The alley docking.
