Course Title:   Accident / Incident Investigation

This course is designed to equip employees with the various incident and accident investigation tools / systems necessary to investigate accidents, as well implement control measures in the workplace. Case studies are used to encourage discussion around the relevant documentation on how to lodge a claim for compensation with the Compensation Commissioner, and the importance of understanding the Occupational Health and Safety Act and what the Act states regarding incidents and accident.

Selecting approaches to investigations appropriate for specified contexts
Gathering data for preliminary investigations that is accurate
Recording and reporting data accurately and as specified
Verbally discuss the essential needs appropriate to investigating an accident or incident at the workplace involving injury to persons or damage to property
Select appropriate investigational methods dependent on the accident or incident that occurred, in order to achieve the best results
Accumulate data, interview persons and effectively collate facts regarding accidents and incidents in the workplace
