Course Title:   Basic Ambulance Assistant

An introduction to Ambulance service responsibilities with instruction in:

· Professional Practice
· Traumatology
· Emergency Care
· Ambulance Technology
· Ambulance Practice

Medical management principles and techniques will be taught up to basic life support level including methods of airway control, cardio pulmonary resuscitation and the Emergency care of critically ill patients.

Candidates will also be introduced to the role of Ambulance service administration, rescue and technical support service.

Target Population

All individuals who want to achieve a qualification as an ambulance assistant and be registered as such with the Health Professional Council of South Africa.

Course Duration

120 Hours, full time, with written, oral and practical exams at the end.
