Course Title:   Arbitration Presenters Workshop

The following training programme is designed to give participants an understanding of the rules and processes involved at the CCMA.

During this workshop participants will acquire the necessary knowledge in order to know how to fully prepare for and litigate at conciliation and arbitration hearings, appropriate conduct at the CCMA and the rules pertaining thereto.

The focus is on practical skills and includes specific modules on evidential aspects and rules applicable to conciliations and arbitrations at the CCMA or relevant bargaining councils.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of this module participants will be able to:
- Demonstrating an understanding of the purpose, primary objectives, application and interpretation of applicable legislation;
- Identify the relevant stakeholders covered under the Labour Relations Act;
- Describe the bodies created by the Labour Relations Act;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the dispute resolution process and the LRA;
- Understand the law of unfair dismissal;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the referral process;
- Demonstrate an understanding of CCMA hearings and their place amongst other processes;
- Apply the rules for the conduct of proceedings before the CCMA;
- Apply the guidelines on misconduct arbitrations;
- Prepare for and litigate at the CCMA;
- Comprehensively understand the CCMA Procedures and your rights at the CCMA.
