Our programmes

The Academy offers a Diploma in Somatology and a Gap-Year Course at both the Stellenbosch campus and the Pretoria campus:


    Diploma in Somatology:  This 3-year diploma is internationally recognised, which makes it highly portable and allows graduates to work anywhere in the world. Our learning philosophy is based on a combination of classroom-based contact sessions and in-service training.

    Gap-year Course: This 1-year course covers a wide range of short courses, and combines skills acquiring with the fun of being a student. (Not a registered qualification on NQF.)

Course Title 2 Diploma in Somatology Classification Beauty Care -> Somatology Course Requirements Entrance requirements The minimum academic requirements are as follows: Academic requirements: National Senior Certificate with exemption from the South African Matriculation Board and an Admissions Point Score (APS) of 24 with the following subjects: English, Mathematics or Mathematic Literacy, and Life Sciences OR a higher certificate in a cognate field. Additional requirements: Applications are also subject to the attendance of an information session and personal interview in Stellenbosch or Pretoria. Price Notes More about this programme Level: NQF Level 6 (360 credits) Duration: 3 years, full-time Tuition format: Class contact sessions with work-integrated learning opportunities to combine theory and real-world practice. Assessment: Continuous assessments through formative assessment (in the classroom or at the workplace) and summative assessment (examinations and assignments). Academic staff: Only highly qualified, skilled professionals and university graduates lecture at the Academy. Students are also given the opportunity to broaden their horizons by attending presentations delivered by specialists. Language of tuition: English Further professional registration: After completion of the qualification in Somatology, we provide students the opportunity to register for the following national and international membership examinations: CIDESCO (Comite International Desthetique et de Cosmetologie) and SAAHSP (South African Association of Health and Skincare Professionals).
