Cinematography (from Greek: kinema "movement" and graphein - "to record") is the making of lighting and camera choices when recording photographic images for cinema. It is closely related to the art of still photography.

The prime job of the DP is to create the visual mood of the film and this is primarily achieved by the use and control of light. This is the most exciting part of the job.

A DOP bring the most to a movie and also to get the maximum enjoyment from shooting it.
