“Write to Communicate … not to Impress” - Carl Goeller.
In the world of work, the written word is the most common means of communication: e-mail, memos, letters, reports, minutes and so on. The reality (especially in multicultural societies) is that much of what we read is badly written and long winded. Phrases from the Victorian era are still in common use and legalese has drifted into everyday documents. The result is that business communication is often an exercise in guesswork and stiflingly boring to read! This course covers the principles of Plain English – write simply and effectively so as to be understood by your audience.
