The work of a flight attendant is very exciting and offers the opportunity to meet different people. From the moment you welcome passengers onboard the aircraft, their safety and comfort are your concern. You will be demonstrating emergency procedures, serving meals and drinks, taking care of special needs passengers, and may be selling duty-free items. You will deal with both routine tasks and exceptional and very challenging situations.
Airline operators conduct flight operations within the SA borders and around the globe and the destinations you will be flying to will depend on the particular operation, which operator you are employed by and the type of aircraft you are licensed to fly on.
This profession involves unsociable hours and apart from this the work itself can be demanding and trying. The ability to deal with passengers in any situation, in a professional and controlled manner, is therefore very important. Flight attendants are important ambassadors for the airline and country of origin and must therefore present a good image at all times.
